SCHOOL LUNCH
FOODS
Most school foods are packaged, and processed. Home cooked meals hold more nutrition and are healthier. Foods are not appetizing and some kids, like me refuse to eat school lunches. We would rather eat nothing than buy the schools lunch. I had wrote a letter to my principle, and my dad had offered to by the school a microwave for kids to use to heat up home cooked meals. She had refused to let him do that because it "had to be a special type that meet the schools code" and he still would have payed to by the single type but still wouldn't let him. All of the food that Liberty Tree Elementary gets is all passed down from the middle school lunch. I can't wait to go to Middle School next year :-)
LUNCH AIDS
At Liberty Tree Elementary School the lunch aids are not nice and are kind of rude/mean and some parents have complained that it is like a 1989 Board School. They yell at us, tell us we cackle. So we are witches? They make us clean up lunch early so we can dance, sing or have comedy hour
(we don't enjoy wasting our lunch time watching them do one of any of the three things). When we do tell a funny joke that everyone has a good laugh at or a funny act the teachers always tell us that
"that is NOT school
appropriate behavior" and go on and on about it. We always get told in fifth grade "
even Kindergarten behaves better than you".
UNFAIR BEHAVIOR
At school if someone in the grade acts out the whole grade gets punished by the lunch aids. They will also threaten you that you will have to stay after school and help the janitor mop/sweep the school until it is done. They changed the rotation of Gaga ball to the letter rotation ( A,B,C,D,E ) instead of class name rotation. This caused Mrs. Whitmore's class ( my class) not to have GAGA ball since December 17 (Thursday before winter break). My homeroom teacher was nice enough to not let other classes have GAGA ball more than once in a row. She wouldn't let anyone play until it was my classes turn to play. We finally got to play Wednesday 27 since then. They will make us ( fifth grade ) sit in the hall way waiting for the second graders to get out of the cafeteria. They take about 5-10 minutes to get in to the lunch room. But they don't make the first graders wait to come in the cafeteria, and I know that because we have been in the cafeteria waiting to be dismissed and they come in, sit down and eat lunch.
TALKING
The lunch aids won't let us talk the whole time and make us clean up as a class and not as we finish eating. Which they make us be quiet while doing. They only let us talk for about 10 minutes during lunch and about 20 minutes during recess and we don't all feel that is enough time through the whole day to talk. If the lunch aids would let us talk more we wouldn't have as much as an urge to talk during class periods.

My brother had a complaint because someone in the cafeteria threw a pair of gloves on the floor and the lunch aids decided that they should punish everyone instead of figuring out who did it. But they chose to not punish Mrs. Smith's class because "they didn't think it came from that direction". Everyone had to sit out at recess except for Mrs. Smith's class. My brother said "I was about to say it was me because I didn't want to see everyone else so disappointed". Then when they finally got outside it was Mrs. Arbona's turn for the Gaga pit but because they were punished they let Mrs. Smith's class because they weren't punished. They made all other classes with that lunch period sit out for the whole recess and still didn't figure out who it was
